| Hi Scotty I hope all is well. I have a Lexus is250 2007 automatic model with 270 000km. When I drive at low speeds, I get a slight shudder on the car. This usually happens when driving up hill at low speeds. When I give it some fuel, it tends to go away. It's a very slight shudder. I recently changed the Solenoid in the gearbox as it was not Changing passed 4th gear. That corrected but them now this happens. Have you come across this before? Regards Erskine David | |||||

| Hey team, no Need advice. I have a 2015 Lexus is250 F-Sport w/ 135k miles last couple of weeks when I go into gear there's an audible clunk after driving and braking the first time. Does not "clunk" again unless I go into reverse which will "clunk" if I brake while in reverse. No "clunk" until I shift into Drive, drive and brake. Nothing is loose in the trunk. "Clunks" louder depending on rate of speed before braking. Appreciate the assistance. Hope to get this resolved soon and praying it's not a full differential rebuild/replace. Lastly, it's RWD. | As people have said, the is250 has carbon issues. Some people talk about oil catch cans solving the problem, but I don't know anything about that. One thing I can tell you as a IS220D owner, is I'd find out (go to Amayama.com or a site similiar that gives you the blow-up drawings of the car) where the fuel filter is. Because as I think it's said in America: It's a bear to get to. They stuck that thing right ontop of the rear axle on my car, and I think they all share the same chassis up toi the IS350. | Hi the auto repair shop I go to has reported for the last 2 years that my 2012 110k miles driven is250 has all 4 suspensions leaking. When should the suspension be replaced? | Hey i have a 2006 is250. The coolant temperature is dropping at high rpms over 4k recently had a new radiator installed and bled the coolant again just incase there was air trapped but its still happening the car has 115k miles any ideas what this could be ? Thanks | |||||

| Hi!I'm looking to buy a used is250. I heard that some owners experience vvti rattling on the intake cam(s) at startup. How serious is the problem? Is there anything i can do to fix the rattle? I've heard that the rattle is caused by a malfunction of the locking pin inside the vvti gear due to stickyness(i think!). I wonder if I can use an engine flush to unstuck the locking pin? P.S: I have a 2003 toyota rav4 with 400k+ km for 2 years and i havent had to put a single dime in it besides oil changes ! Thank you Scotty for making me buy a Toyota! | |||||

| Hey Scotty, I have a 2013 Lexus is250 it is given me codes P0172, P0175, P0101, and I believe the last shop said P0301. I've changed the MAF sensor 2 times and all 4 O2 sensors. There is no vacuum leak but it's running very rich. I've had it at 5 shops and not even Lexus can figure out the problem. Please help. You're my last hope. 😕 | |||||

| Hi All! I purchased a 2007 Lexus is250 in Jan 2021 with 113K miles. Immediately after I replaced all spark plugs and the PCV valve with Lexus OEM parts for preventative maintenance purposes. It now has 133K miles and I have had zero issues with it. The original owner took it in for an oil change every 4K miles, and I have done the same with Molbile1 full synthetic oil. Also, I always use 93 octane gas. Despite having zero issues, and the motor running smooth, is it worth taking it in to do a walnut blast of the engine for potential carbon build up? | Hey Scotty I have a 2007 lexus is250 with AT and 163K miles on it. It started popping out my radiator hoses one by one. First it was my bottom hose then the top hose connecting to the Radiator it broke it so I had to replace the Radaitor then it did it again with the one connecting to the thermostat why does it keep doing that? All the hoses had screw on clamps as well. Why is there so much pressure built up? I was told it could be the Head Gaskets but I want to be sure.. I did a Radiator flush as well and now my temperature is saying overheating? I took it ... | |||||

| ... the Lexus? Typically the Lexus is of higher quality than Kia, as Doc commented.Yet as DayWalker advised, he has knowledge of complaints about this Lexus model year on this forum. The is250 is very high mileage and 15 years old. Have you had it checked by a knowledgeable mechanic. Do you have information regarding its repair and maintenance history? If not, it may be best to keep your Kia and save the two thousand dollars until you find a lower mileage car that is more reliable and less expensive to maintain and repair. | |||||
