| Hi David, Of all three of those cars, I would choose the Mazda. They are fairly solid cars. nissan has had build quality issues with the cars and parts in the 2000's in general. My father has had a 2007 nissan Altima with the V6, the VQ engines are fairly solid. He also currently has a 2012 nissan Frontier PRO-4X (which I use), it has a solid engine (because it is the 4.0 VQ), BUT it has had to have the bumper replaced twice and the axle replaced once. | 2004 nissan Pathfinder SE (165,000 miles) [both engine and trans have been replaced before don’t know where/ when got it second hand from relative] . The vehicle idles okay for a little bit, but as the car warms up or when A/C is turned on the vehicle goes into “limp mode” (I put quotations cause I don’t know what to call it) , and won’t go faster than 2-3 miles per hour. | Like others said above, its a model per model, but in Scotty's reliability rankings he put nissan above GM by one spot I believe. It also depends on what you want. If you are fine with 8-10 years 100k miles out of a car you could be reasonably happen with a nissan, where the biggest issue is the CVT, but in GM products, the quality is so low that anything could happen whether it would be the engine blowing up at 1500 miles or lasting until 100k miles. | Looking at a 2002 nissan Frontier 3.3L V6 Auto Transmission w/ 104K miles. Asking price is $3,800. I know nissan is nothing compared to Toyota Tacomas. I know Scotty also has mentioned not a big fan of nissan, but my father has a 95 Hard Body nissan Truck and still running like new. Were these better built? | Hi Scotty, I was on the verge of buying a new nissan sentra 2022 from a dealer when I came across your YouTube channel whilst browsing. | Hey Scotty hope you're having a good day. is it just me or am I crazy ? for the past few months everywhere I go since I live in Orlando,FL I am seeing people driving the older 1st generation 2007-2013 nissan rogues more compared to the 2nd (2014-2019) and newest 2021 3rd generation nissan rogues. even my neighbor she drives a 2014 nissan Rogue select (which is a continuation of those older cars). Thank god I own a 2010 nissan Pathfinder still not the greatest vehicle out there but at least it was one of the few SUVs that doesn't have a CVT back in the day. ... | |||||

If I personally had to choose I would look for the best deal lowest mileage 2011-2014 nissan Maxima I could find the Hyundai is not my style really. | Oh for sure the cx-5 the cx-5 is a better car overall the engine and transmission are pretty good it's ride is good as well and the quality is high. When it comes to reliability and quality, the 3 brands in mind would be, by order, Toyota Honda then Mazda. nissan would have transmission issues which WILL mechanically total the car by 110k miles or so. I would run away from a nissan Rogue. Plus, it is just a cheaply made French car not even that nice of a car. Small SUV picks in the 2015 2016 era is Toyota Rav4, Honda CRV, and Mazda CX-5. | Hi Scotty, I know that you are not a fan of nissan and their CVT transmission. My family has driven 6 different nissan vehicles over the past 20 years and we have never had a problem with any of them; granted we have never reached 100K miles in any of them. My 2013 Maxima is currently at 96Kmiles, I bought it used at 44Kmile in 2017 and regularly maintain the car, change the oil (full synthetic oil), oil filter, in-cabin air filter, tire rotation every 5K-7.5K miles , I even took your advice and cleaned the MAF. | Whats your opinion on This 2008 nissan Altima i found at this dealership? It has a 6 speed manual gearbox and a 3.5 liter v6 engine. It has 117k miles on the clock. I know nissan's quality isn't top-notch, but the main problems that nissans had back then are are with automatic transmissions. And this nissan doesn't have the 2.5 litre 4 cylinder which is Prone to head gasket failures. The car hasn't been in any accidents either, but we wil have a mechanic examine it before we buy it | |||||

| About the only benefit to an electric car is that it needs a lot less maintenance than a normal car. So it may be OK from that standpoint. The low mileage is very suspicious and should be verified. How long do you expect to keep it? The main battery pack may be OK for now but at 11 years old it will likely be failing within the next few years. So figure in the cost of replacing the battery if you want to keep it much longer than that. | |||||

| Well, those things don't need much servicing. Just realize they have a limited range. At least don't go all that far before they run out of power. But if you're happy with that, try to talk them down on price because theleafs have one of the lowest resale values of all cars out there | |||||
