| Dealer charging me $4000 for vct solenoid repair? | 10Relevance | 4 years ago | Teknikal | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| 2019 Ford f150 3.5eb auto. 73,500 miles. Hi Scotty, I have a intermittent check engine light on a '19 Ford f150 and the OBDII reads codes P0018 and P0021. Took it to the dealer and asked employees about it and they said the vct solenoid needed to be replaced (didn't specify which ones). They quoted more than $4000 in which I thought was just a replacement for the vct cylinder but they're stating many things need to be done such as remove the engine, change the hoses, etc. Is this true? $4000 reaches the cost of a new engine for some cars and it shocks me it ... | |||||
| Answer to: I found a hidden feature in the 2021 Ford F-150 | 10Relevance | 4 years ago | geriscan | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Is it a bug or a feature? I wonder this particular oddity is unique to police vehicles, f150 or otherwise. After all, many police vehicles do a fair amount of idling, which necessitates more frequent oil changes. You might want to contact a few municipal technicians in other towns or cities, and find out if they have encountered this, as well, perhaps not just with the f150, but perhaps with those infamous Ford Interceptors/Explorers, "the police carbon monoxide" machines that have poisoned enough officers to force class action lawsuits and the pulling of fl ... | |||||

| Has anybody seen Scotty's pitch for the Ford f150 charity raffle? I not only wonder how much he got paid for that but who paid it! I wouldn't buy a new f150 even if I won the lottery. | |||||

| Nope to all motors in the 2018 or newer f150. They redesigned the 5.0 and it is a horrible motor now. DO NOT buy any 2018 or newer f150 if you value your money. | |||||

| Oh my with the f150. I’ve known folks that had problems right off the bat with the f150. Which is surprising since it is the number one selling vehicle in America, at least in the top 3. | |||||

| RE: Mustang purchase question | 10Relevance | 5 years ago | Mod_Man | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| There isn't a solid percentage as Ford will NEVER release that data. I've had an 18 GT, a 19 GT/CS, and an 18 f150. All three had engine problems and I wound up suing Ford for a year over the f150 before getting my money back. Erratic shifting and slippage are both common issues with the autos. The MT-82 is one of, if not the, worst transmissions ever made. All I can say is if you buy one, you're rolling the dice. We've had people on the forum sell their Mustangs due to issues just months after purchase. It's your money, and your gamble. | |||||

| ... for instance completely retooled their plants for the f150. Since 2015 f150's chassis are now assembled with rivets and glue (for the aluminized bodies) for instance. Regarding bailouts, we will have to see how they (and the US consumer) can weather the next recession. If the politics in the US stay the same, I see a continued and sustained push for EVs. The worst part about it, is even if consumers don't buy them in large numbers (or outright reject them like I do) the government is going to continue to legislate them into existence. I hope I'm wron ... | |||||

| ... a small business and I need a mid size truck to buy supplies. I won't need a big truck like a f150. My supplies are gigantic. I will also use the truck for daily commute. I live in a densed city as well so parking a f150 will be a war lol. I've heard that the interior of the Tacoma is quite small. I'll go to the dealers to see them both to confirm that. One thing I won't be able to find out at the dealerships is how much "truck" I can get out of the Ranger or the Tacoma. I'd appreciate if anyone who has had experience with these two trucks input. | |||||
| Answer to: Oil Catch can | 10Relevance | 5 years ago | Mod_Man | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I did not add a catch can on my f150, but I probably should have. It is essentially the same motor that is in the Mustang, just tuned for towing rather than performance. Adding one on the passenger side will definitely help with carbon buildup. Trust me, enough residue gets by that it will not combust in the motor cleanly. As a side note, I went through 3 engines and 2 transmissions in my 18 f150 in the first 6k miles. It wound up with me suing Ford and getting my money back. I hope you have better luck than me, but since '18 when Ford switched to plasma l ... | |||||
